Brooks A. Ahalt, DVM
Dr. Ahalt was born and raised in the Jefferson area. He has practiced at Jefferson Veterinary Hospital since 1999 and became the owner of the practice in 2004. Dr. Ahalt was awarded his BS in biology from Elon College, North Carolina, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following his graduation, he completed an intensive 12-month small animal medicine and surgery internship at Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Ahalt enjoys all aspects of practice but has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and oncology (the medical and surgical treatment of cancer). He strives to be the best advocate for your pet’s health and provide the best services for both you and your pet.
Dr. Ahalt has five children Cole, Zeb, Luke, Caden and Isla. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities. His is very involved with his children and their extracurricular activities and can be frequently seen shouting words of encouragement from the sidelines of the ice rink, baseball and soccer fields around Frederick County.

Megan Rynarzewski, DVM
Dr. Megan Rynarzewski has been with Jefferson Veterinary Hospital since February 2008. She grew up in Woodbine, Maryland, and still resides there today. She attended Virginia Tech for undergraduate studies and undertook her veterinary studies at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in May 2006.
Dr. Megan has special interest in preventative medicine, endocrinology (hormone and glandular issues) and surgery. She truly believes in delivering the best possible care for, and establishing close relationships with, her clients and their pets. Her interests outside of work include working with youth in 4-H, gardening, watching football (GO HOKIES!), and spending time with her family and friends.
