Associate Veterinarian

Well-established, growing two doctor small animal hospital with locations in Jefferson and Brunswick, Maryland is seeking an associate veterinarian to join our team of dedicated, compassionate and highly trained individuals.  

We are a privately owned, friendly, fast-paced, progressive practice that has been in operation since 1974. Dr. Ahalt has owned the practice since 2005 and strives to provide the highest quality, compassionate medical care to our patients and education to our clients to ensure the best overall health of their pets. We strive to exceed our clients’ expectations, develop trusted, lasting relationships and treat our patients as if they are our own pets. Our established reputation as a premier veterinary practice reaches beyond our local community, with a significant number of clients travelling long distances to obtain veterinary care at our facility. 

We are conveniently located approximately an hour outside of Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. Recreational and cultural opportunities abound! We seek a dedicated doctor efficient in small animal medicine and surgery who is passionate about patient  care and client communication. The ideal candidate enjoys a wide variety of challenging cases and provides the highest level of veterinary care and client communication. Our Doctors operate out of a brand new, fully equipped 6,500 square foot state of the art hospital, built with attention to detail featuring a spacious treatment area, large surgical suites, digital radiology, stem cell therapy/PRP, laser therapy, ultrasound, in-house lab and endoscopy. While we conduct the vast majority of surgeries and treatment in-house, ranging from elective procedures to oncologic surgery and adjunctive chemotherapy, advanced soft tissue surgeries, such as cholecystectomy, TPLOs and amputations, we are able to utilize our easily accessible supportive veterinary specialists and top class specialty hospitals for more complicated cases and complex surgeries. We constantly consider and add new technologies and therapies to our practice to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our clients’ pets. Our doctors enjoy working with our veterinary technicians, assistants and customer service representatives, who are an integral part of our team and a key part of our success.
